Diablo: Immortal players are reported to have lost millions of XP due to a Battle Pass bug, even though developer Blizzard has issued a fix for this issue.
As reported by PCGamesNPlayers in early July stated that they were not receiving XP rewards for advancing the game’s Battle Pass. This will result in the loss of millions of experience points.
Reddit user mdkubit “After today’s reset, I completed the bounty and finished the Battle Pass rank. The XP animation played, but the XP bar didn’t increase at all.” Another user, Revorne-RevThey said, “I ranked up twice in the Battle Pass and neither gave me XP.”
These are two of a myriad of reports, and players are discussing issues of varying degrees. Some Battle Passes seem to work, while others do, but not at all.
Diablo Community Leader: Immortal Posted on Reddit On July 23, Blizzard said it was aware of the issue and issued an update to resolve the issue. The developers also promised that the amount of XP lost for each player would be calculated and rewarded.
Bug reports continued after the update, The-Crawling-Chaos On July 25, two days after the hotfix, he said, “I leveled up my Battle Pass after a weekly reset and I haven’t received any XP.” Other users have confirmed that the same thing is happening. Some said the bug was fixed, but the lost XP wasn’t refunded.
Diablo: Immortal faces very severe criticism from players and critics about microtransactions that essentially lock the best upgrades behind the very expensive loot boxes. Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra defended the system, but it certainly makes sense, as free games earned $ 24 million in the first two weeks.
This issue also appeared in the 6/10 review, as IGN states: “Diablo: Immortal’s monster killing action is built-in and satisfying, and the game offers a ton of free gameplay. Leave plenty of end-game experience and room for improvement.”
