A New NetherRealm Game Won’t Be Revealed at The Game Awards

Four years after the surprise reveal of Mortal Kombat 11 at the 2018 Game Awards, some fans are speculating that this year’s Game Awards show will include the unveiling of a new Mortal Kombat title. . Unfortunately for fans of the series, Mortal Kombat’s developer, his NetherRealm Studios, isn’t quite ready to publish the new game.

Today, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon tweeted that the next installment of the Mortal Kombat series will not be unveiled at this year’s Game Awards.

“Four years ago at the Game Awards, we were able to pull off a surprise MK11 reveal, and it was amazing,” Boon wrote. “Probably too great. A lot of people thought he’d repeat that trick in his next game. Thank you for your anticipation, but I’m not ready to announce his next NRS game yet.” .”

Mortal Kombat 11, the latest installment of the classic series, gave it a 9 in our review, calling it “the best Mortal Kombat ever” and “arguably the best game in Netherrealm.”

The next Mortal Kombat title won’t be announced at this year’s Game Awards, but the show will begin on December 8th.
