Alan Wake 2 Might Get a Physical Release After All, at Least on PC

A physical release of Alan Wake 2 may be possible after all, as THQ Nordic has hinted that it’s interested in publishing a hard copy digital-only sequel.

THQ Nordic has published the first Alan Wake game on PC and released a physical disc. “So… we developed a disc version of Alan Wake for PC during the ICYMI era,” THQ Nordic said on Twitter. “And just because a person (or company) doesn’t like being physical, there are still plenty of people who do. A full circle and that’s all.”

While this is far from confirmed, THQ Nordic’s proposal does offer a sliver of hope for those wanting to obtain a physical copy of Alan Wake 2.

Earlier this week, Remedy Entertainment revealed that the sequel would be released digital-only on all platforms to keep costs down. As a result, the game remains $60 on consoles and $50 on PC, instead of the $70 that many other publishers currently charge.

Alan Wake 2 will premiere at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023 and will feature the second playable protagonist in the saga. He will launch on October 17, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
