Alone in the Dark Reboot Arrives This October, Demo Available Now

THQ Nordic has announced that the Alone in the Dark reboot will launch on October 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox series and PC, with a free demo available now.

Users of these platforms can download the playable prologue of Alone in the Dark and experience what the full game has to offer without any spoilers of the main story. In the standalone demo, the player puts himself in the shoes of his 11-year-old Grace as his Sanders and runs errands that quickly go awry.

The publisher also confirmed that Stranger Things’ David Harbor will play one of the dual characters, Edward Carnby, and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer will play the other Emily Hartwood. also revealed.

Players can choose to play the story as either character, but THQ Nordic promises that each character will offer a different interpretation of the same story.

“Explore the Delceto mansion in a reimagining of Alone in the Dark, a love letter to the 90s cult horror classic,” the announcement reads. “Set in the gothic American South of the 1920s, Alone in the Dark features a noir setting with classic Lovecraftian horror elements, where the familiar meets the surreal. You will come across something.”

First announced in August 2022, THQ Nordic has been relatively quiet on Alone in the Dark since then, and has now resurfaced to announce a release date and prologue. In an initial preview of the game, he said that IGN “provides an exciting take on the horror game classic, and the team and motivation seem just right.”
