An Unknown Silent Hill Game Has Seemingly Been Rated in Korea

A new Silent Hill game called The Short Message may be released, according to Korean ratings.

Korean Game Ratings and Management Commission (via) Sotomatsu) have given a rating The previously unreleased Silent Hill: In Short Messages. Unfortunately, it’s unclear what this new game will be, and it’s also unclear on which platforms it will appear. I’m guessing it may be hinting at a possible teaser.

The publisher was listed as UNIANA, the publisher of Konami’s recent free football debacle, eFootball 2023. It’s also unclear if Short Messages will be a new Silent Hill game, a teaser, a spin-off, or a mobile game. It could even be a new Silent Hill arcade experience given UNIANA’s production of arcade cabinets.

Originally released for PS One in 1999, Silent Hill tells the story of Harry Mason, a man searching for his missing adopted daughter in a famous fictional American town. The survival horror was a huge hit, spawning numerous sequels and spin-offs over the years.

It’s been almost ten years since the last full game, and fans are eager for more. Unfortunately, the last time PT saw his official one was back in 2014. This is Hideo Kojima’s legendary teaser for the then-cancelled Silent Hill.

However, numerous leaks and rumors have been pointed out, with potentially multiple new Silent Hill games in the works. It’s unclear if Silent Hill: The Short Message is related to these leaks. For now, we’ll have to wait and see, but it could be good news for Silent Hill fans.

The Silent Hill series now has eight mainline games, starting with the original Silent Hill in 1999 and ending with 2012’s lackluster Silent Hill: Downpour.
