The launch of the Infinity platform and its first game, Codename Red, marks the beginning of what Ubisoft is calling Season 3 of Assassin’s Creed. Period 1 covers Assassin his Creed his Syndicate (basically the Action/Adventure era) from the start of the series, while Period 2 covers his RPG era of Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. This new era was designed to be a good place for new players to enter, thus separating the more complex and ongoing meta his story set in modern times from the standalone historical narrative. It makes sense to

“People who like to immerse themselves in the past can jump right into it, without being disturbed or having to find out who Desmond and Layla are,” Cote said.

As part of today’s Assassin’s Creed Showcase, Infinity isn’t a game, it’s a launcher-like hub for the series. That means no modern storyline would be told through his playable characters like Desmond or Layla. Koté declined to explain exactly how the story will be told, but said that we should expect the method to change over time.

“The way we tell stories evolves over time,” Côté said. “But the abstraction we want people to have is [Infinity] This is your Animus. DNA Explorer on your desktop. you are the hero of the story “
