Battlefield 2042 Update Finally Begins to Address ‘Walking Sim’ Map Complaints

EA’s DICE has finally addressed criticism of one of Battlefield 2042’s maps, which fans dubbed it a “walking simulator.” With the new update 1.2, Kaleidoscope has been reworked and includes “improved gameplay flow”.

released by the developer patch notes The update coming today, August 2nd, details the mid-season update. It also includes some other changes. The Kaleidoscope rework finds these improvements, but DICE said in his March that he understands why fans “use terms like ‘walking simulator’ to describe” Battlefield 2042. Marks the first map update since.

“We have identified several focus areas for the launch map where quality standards can be improved through changes to cover, strength, line of sight, paths and traversal,” said DICE. It takes time. Kaleidoscope is the first map to complete this rework.”

Changes include adding new assets and raised terrain cover in some regions, creating new flag positions, adding brand new regions including forward operating bases in parks and a second command post near towers. It is included.

DICE is releasing the next update update through improvements to Battlefield 2042’s seven launch maps. According to the developers, this is expected to arrive in one of Season 2, i.e. between September and November.

Today’s update also includes updated character models, gun changes like the RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal 30mm Cannon, a player profile page, and improvements to aim assist on consoles.

Battlefield 2042’s launch has been pretty chaotic, with Season 1 launching seven months after its June launch, after being postponed to focus on more pressing issues like including the scoreboard. This update is too late.

Publisher EA has almost simultaneously admitted that Battlefield 2042 did not live up to its expectations, and soon after a petition seeking a refund was launched online, now with more than 230,000 players signed. There were fewer players on Steam than Battlefield 1, 4, and 5 in early March, so there was a decline during that time.
