Bayonetta 3 Gets a Release Date

Update 07/13/22: In addition to the October 28 release date announcement, developer PlatinumGames has announced that Bayonetta 3 will be available in family-friendly mode.

The series is known to be a bit flashy, but as Platinum tweeted (below), “Naive Angel Mode” makes a little explicit scene a little more suitable for all age groups. The post included a demonstration video, but basically covers Bayonetta with more clothes.

“By turning it on, you can play right away in the living room without having to worry about what’s on your screen … we’re thinking,” says Platinum.

Nintendo has finally announced the release date of the long-awaited Bayonetta 3, and announced that it will appear on Nintendo Switch on October 28th.

The long new trailer (below) ended on the October release date, almost five years after the game was officially announced in December 2017.

The brand new gameplay revealed in the trailer shows one of Bayonetta’s transformations, and many of the fast-paced battles in the series (and the developers across PlatinumGames) are known. It also features clips from several cutscenes, revealing new characters and plot points that fans can see in Bayonetta 3.

Some fans were worried following the number of no-shows at events like E3, but the game reappeared last year when Platinum said it was “going well.”

The new gameplay was announced last September, and developers repeated the 2022 release date a few months later.

In a 9/10 review of the previous game, IGN said: “Bayonetta 2 is based on everything that made the original great and offers one of the best action games of the year.”
