Bitfinex unveils peer-to-peer trading platform for Latin American markets

Bitfinex, a prominent digital asset trading platform, has announced the launch of a new peer-to-peer (P2P) platform called Bitfinex P2P.

The platform will initially target the Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia markets, allowing customers to directly trade Bitcoin (BTC), Tether Tokens (USDT and EURT), Tether Gold (XAUT) and Ethereum (ETH). , can also facilitate payments abroad.According to a press release shared with Bitfinex platform crypto slate.

Bitfinex P2P allows users to exchange one digital token for another within the marketplace. The trading process requires two steps. First, customers, called “makers”, create “advertisements” on an “advertising board” to indicate their intent to exchange their supported tokens. This ad is shown to other customers, or “takers,” who may choose to participate in the deal based on the terms outlined by the manufacturer.

The “Bitfinex P2P Marketplace” includes a public profile view feature for added security during trading. This feature allows users to access important information about potential counterparties such as average payout time, transaction volume, number of transactions and other relevant details before proceeding with the transaction.

A mobile version of Bitfinex P2P will be released later this year, along with other features aimed at improving the customer experience. This mobile version will allow customers to trade cryptocurrencies on the go.

Bitfinex’s efforts

The launch of Bitfinex P2P in Latin America is the latest in a series of efforts by Bitfinex to expand access to digital asset-related financial services in the region. Prior to this, the company invested in Chilean cryptocurrency bank OrionX and established a significant presence in El Salvador, the first country to officially adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender.
