Blizzard Clarifies How Loot Boxes and Currency Will Transfer To Overwatch 2
As Overwatch 2 approaches (at least PvP), there are some protracted questions about how the transfer from the first Overwatch to the sequel takes place, such as how the loot box is transferred. If you’re still hoarding loot boxes, rest assured that those content will be transferred to Overwatch 2.

Specter added that unopened loot boxes are automatically opened and their contents are automatically entered into the player’s account.
