Call of Duty Fans Flock to Xbox 360 Classics Like Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 3 Following Apparent Server Update

The classic Call of Duty game on Xbox 360 seems to be getting a second wind as a server update sparks renewed interest in online play.

Thousands were reportedly online over the weekend playing games like Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 3 (2011) and Treyarch’s Black Ops 2 (2012). 2007’s groundbreaking Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare gave it even more momentum.

These old Call of Duty games are still playable online ten years after they came out, but they were full of hackers, boosters and cheaters. The timing of all this is interesting when you think about it. , widely expected to be the (new) Modern Warfare 3.
