Call of Duty Studio Infinity Ward Seems to Be Working on an Open World RPG

Infinity Ward, the developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, seems to be working on an open world RPG in a studio based in Krakow, Poland.

Currently achieved job titles (screenshots created and posted on Twitter) advertised the position of story director responsible for providing “the best story and movie experience in an open world RPG.” ..

Discovered by GamesRadarTweets from Call of Duty News Account @charlieINTEL This makes it clear that it is for an “unpublished AAA project” with a non-linear story set in an open world.

The project hasn’t been confirmed to exist yet, but it’s very early considering that Infinity Ward has just finished promoting the game’s “set the overall vision and direction” narrative director. It seems to be in the stage.

The developers are currently promoting 15 other positions in Krakow’s studio, but don’t mention open world games. Between one Senior character artist Positions refer to “unpublished AAA projects”, nothing directly links this to open world games, and all other positions are fairly ambiguous.

Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28th this year. The studio has also confirmed that they are also working on Call of Duty: Warzone 2, which is said to contain “breakthrough innovation.”
