Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera Shutting Down in September

Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera, one of the remnants of the original Call of Duty: Warzone released in 2020, will be offline on September 21st. All Caldera gameplay, player progress, inventory, and online services will expire on that date. Activision Blizzard said:

Activision Blizzard said: blog post It said the decision was made to “focus on future Call of Duty content, including the current Warzone free-to-play experience.”

“With the launch of Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile, which includes a shared battle pass and cross-progression, players will be ready for even more Warzone content on consoles and PC, ready for a new era of battle royale on the go. The Call of Duty team and studio look forward to sharing more details in the near future.”

This shutdown does not affect Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard multiplayer, nor does it affect current versions of Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera was previously launched as a separate game with content mirroring Call of Duty: Vanguard. It was intended as a replacement for the original He Warzone, which went offline shortly after Warzone 2’s release.

Call of Duty is set to release later this year, returning to Modern Warfare. No official announcement has been made yet.
