CD Projekt Is ‘Totally, Fully Committed’ to Making More Cyberpunk in Future
Although Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced many problems since its launch (and they have been fixed!), CD Projekt remains “totally, utterly committed” to further developing the Cyberpunk IP. I am doing.”
Michał Nowakowski, vice president of business development at CD Projekt, said: CD Projekt Group 2022 First Half Results Announcement, It says that the foundation the studio has built for this particular universe isn’t just thrown away.
“We decided to develop one major expansion for Cyberpunk that leverages all the capabilities of the new generation consoles,” Nowakowski said. “That said, we are fully committed to further developing Cyberpunk IP beyond this particular Cyberpunk expansion.”
“We have put a lot of effort and time into building this franchise. It’s not just video game formats..In terms of expansions, there’s only one big one, but we’ll be adding new ones in the future.”
This follows CD Projekt’s big Cyberpunk stream, which revealed a bit about the future of Cyberpunk 207. Before that, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime is set to arrive on Netflix.
Nowakowski doesn’t specifically say so, but we feel his comments are likely referring to Cyberpunk media other than Cyberpunk 2077 itself. A new TV show, or whatever.
Along with announcing that Phantom Liberty will be Cyberpunk 2077’s first and only planned expansion, CD Projekt has also announced that it has released an official modding tool called REDmod that will bring the game even more to life. That was good news, but Cyberpunk players on last-gen consoles were unable to play the expansion when they learned it had ended development on PS4 and Xbox One.
As for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime will release on September 13th and follows a young street kid who dreams of becoming a mercenary outlaw known as Edgerunners. To help fans prepare for the series, CD Projekt has released an update. It puts the player in the shoes of David Martinez, the protagonist of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
