Civilization 7 Officially Announced by Firaxis

Firaxis Games has officially announced that Civilization 7 is in development at the studio.

Revealed with the announcement that former COO Heather Hazen will be the new studio head, Firaxis has confirmed that its next Civilization game is in development.

“Starting with the announcement that the next iteration of the legendary Civilization franchise, Firaxis, is in development, we are thrilled to have this opportunity to continue the studio’s storied legacy,” said Hazen.

“We are fortunate to be working with some of the best developers in the industry. We have plans to take the Civilization franchise to exciting new heights for millions of players around the world. Additionally, we will continue to support Marvel’s Midnight.” Suns will provide post-launch content and explore new creative projects for our team.”

Seven years after Civilization 6’s launch in 2016, fans have been patiently awaiting confirmation of the new entry. The studio has been working on XCOM’s other premier strategy franchise, Chimera Squad, since then, and recently tried something completely new. The aforementioned Marvel’s Midnight Sons.

Civilization 7 could still be a few years away, as it’s the only announcement so far that hasn’t mentioned a release date, mechanics, or other game details, but it looks like it will be Firaxis Games’ main focus going forward. .
