Cocoon, an upcoming game from Geometric Interactive and lead gameplay designers from Limbo and Inside, was awarded. Latest gameplay trailer from Day of the Devs 2023 It showcased a unique world jump mechanism.
Cocoon aims to set itself apart by allowing you to explore multiple worlds and pop out of them at will. It doesn’t sound very revolutionary, but what happens after that is quite possible. As shown in the trailer, it becomes an orb that you can carry with you when you fly out of the world.
Additionally, each orb/world also has a unique ability that can be unlocked, allowing you to use it in any world you may enter. Additionally, players can use those orbs to solve puzzles. For example, you can send an orb down a pipe to activate a switch.
But Cocoon is more than just puzzles, it also features combat with tough and powerful Guardians that stand in your way. Each battle has a unique mechanic that promises to keep you on the edge of tension at all times, and should be fun to discover.
Cocoon is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Switch in 2023. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
