Crunchyroll Names Cyberpunk Edgerunners Best Anime of 2022 Over Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer
Cyberpunk Edgerunners was named the best anime of the year at Crunchyroll’s 2023 Anime Awards, beating out stiff competition from Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer and more.
Presented in award show Over the weekend in Tokyo, Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red’s Netflix series surpassed Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Red Light District, Lycoris Reaction, King’s Ranking, and Spy x Family.
The show’s official Twitter account posted a congratulatory message (below), saying, “Thank you for your support, your votes, and your watching the anime.”

Cyberpunk Edgerunners premiered in September 2022 to critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. Cyberpunk 2077 also sparked a revival with more than 1 million players joining every day. Fans fell in love with the story, too, and added elements like Cyberpsychosis to the game via mods.
IGN gave it a 9/10 in their review, stating:
