The roguelike rhythm game Crypt of the NecroDancer is spinning off.
Rift of the NecroDancer, the new game from Brace Yourself Games, features a new look, a new modern setting, and some new tracks.
“NecroDancer is back with an all-new rhythm game spin-off with an all-new look, modern setting, and soundtrack!” they revealed Via Twitter“Help Cadence rhythmically repair rifts and battle enemies in a variety of new game modes!”

If you liked the original, you’ll want to check out this new original spin-off as Cadence switches things up with all-new gameplay.
Here’s the official synopsis:
“NecroDancer is back in our rhythm game spin-off! Help Cadence navigate the modern world while mending the rift that tore his life apart. Rhythmic battles with rift modes, mini-games and boss fights to the beat of the new soundtrack by Danny Baranowski and friends.”
The new Rift Mode uses a rhythm game to defeat the monsters spilling out of the Rift to close it.
Meanwhile, Minigame Mode lets you jump directly into some of the game’s new minigames, helping Cadence face the challenges of modern life with a rhythmic twist.
The boss battle mode is almost reminiscent of PaRappa – dodge the game’s bosses in a rhythmic dance to the death.
IGN’s review of Crypt of the NecroDancer called it “an exciting rhythm-action roguelike with an excellent soundtrack.”
