CD Projekt Red has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will win the Game of the Year edition when the Phantom Liberty expansion releases in 2023.
According to the Polish website stock watch (and discovered insider game), CD Projekt Red President and Co-CEO Adam Kiciński said at a recent investor meeting that Cyberpunk 2077 will follow in the footsteps of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and will include all previously released DLC in 1 He said he would receive the new edition in one package.
“It’s the natural order of things,” he said. “The Witcher is the same, after both expansions it was finally released as a Game of the Year edition and has always been marketed that way ever since. I would expect the same in this case.”
The Phantom Liberty DLC — Cyberpunk 2077’s only paid expansion pack with hours of new story content — is set to launch in 2023, and Kiciński says the Game of the Year edition will be released shortly thereafter. It’s a schedule.
This expansion will only release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC, so it’s possible that the Game of the Year edition will also only release on those platforms.
In their 9/10 review of the PC version of the base game, IGN said:
