Diablo 4: Blizzard Confirms Two Expansions in Development

Ferguson also added that Diablo IV’s live service format, in contrast to Diablo III, could incorporate more substantial content over the course of the season. Previously, Ferguson said Diablo IV’s expansion had narrative questlines and richer context around seasons, while Diablo III was more about adding mechanics and rebalancing. .

With two expansions from Blizzard, Diablo IV already surpasses its predecessor in terms of post-release content. Diablo II and Diablo III each received one big expansion, but both remained well supported with patches and other content updates. Blizzard has said that Diablo IV will be updated for “several years” after launch, and has already revealed a solid roadmap for the future.

Diablo IV won’t officially release until it leaves early access tomorrow, but players have already reached level 100 in Hardcore mode and immortalized their name in Blizzard’s statue of Lilith.
