Activision Blizzard executive Rod Ferguson has confirmed that Diablo IV won’t launch on Xbox or PC Game Pass, and encourages players to try the early access beta this weekend.
“It’s great to see the excitement of the Diablo IV Beta and our Wolf Pack pups! We’ve been getting some questions about D4 on Game Pass, but we don’t have any plans,” Ferguson said. explained on twitter“See you in Sanctuary during Beta Early Access weekend starting March 17th!”
While some may have expected the game to launch on Microsoft’s subscription, it also makes sense that it doesn’t. However, the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard has not yet been officially approved in countries such as the EU. As such, Activision Blizzard is not yet in Xbox’s first party lineup.
Both Sony and Microsoft continue to fight over a merger.
