Diablo 4 Season 1 Release Date Revealed Along With Fresh Details on Quest Line and More

Diablo 4 Season 1 is set to release on July 20th, Blizzard has revealed in a new livestream. This livestream also contains many new details about upcoming content updates.

Titled “Season of the Malignant,” the new seasonal content comes with an all-new questline featuring “new faces, new enemies, new powers, a first season journey, and a first battle pass.” It takes place after the events of the main campaign and introduces a new character named Kormand, a former priest of the Cathedral of Light who is trying to stop a malignant spread.

Season of the Marinant introduces a “dangerous new threat” in the form of malevolent monsters that spread throughout Sanctuary. Elite monsters can spawn as vicious monsters with additional powers. Malignant monsters can be defeated by drawing out their corruption and entrapping their malignant hearts, and inserting their malignant hearts into rings and amulets.

To combat the creatures, Blizzard states that Season of Malignant will include new builds that are “ridiculously powerful” thanks to new Malignant powers. Blizzard also hinted at new boss monsters, new legendary items, new unique items, and more. According to Blizzard, the new items will not only be seasonal, but will also appear in the Eternal Realm.

Players can dive into the seasonal realms and start new characters from level 1, although some features are only available after completing the main campaign. The new ‘Season Journey’ unfolds across his seven chapters, each containing multiple objectives that can be completed to earn rewards such as Favors that can be used to earn Diablo 4 Battle Pass rewards . According to Blizzard, the Battle Pass includes a free tier where everyone can earn Seasonal Boosts to accelerate their progress. The paid tier also includes exclusive decorations.

Blizzard has previously confirmed that Diablo 4 will continue to evolve and expand “for years to come.” This includes two confirmed enhancements and a robust roadmap. The Season of the Malignant patch will drop on his July 18th, and new items and balance changes will be available in the Eternal Realm from that point on.

Diablo 4 was released last month to critical acclaim, with one reviewer writing, “Diablo 4 is a fantastic sequel with a near-perfect endgame and progression design that’s absolutely addictive.” .
