Diablo 4’s Hefty 8GB Season 1 Patch Has Arrived, Bringing Big Changes to Uniques and More

With Diablo IV Season 1 just around the corner, Blizzard has released a massive 8.84GB patch featuring balance changes for classes, unique items, and more.

Diablo IV patch 1.1.0a aims to prepare for the upcoming Malignant Season and introduces a number of gameplay changes, including making the Altar of Lilith lock available account-wide. We’re also significantly rebalancing some classes, especially the Sorceress. Sorceress adds a significant nerf to the Blaze Greedy skill, which is important for many builds. This is in addition to changes to monster movement, XP progression, accessibility, and more.

But what really catches players’ attention are the new unique items. Here are some highlights.

Universal

Ahavarion Spear of Lycander (Uber Unique Staff – World Tier 4): Gain a random shrine effect for 10-20 seconds after killing an elite enemy. Occurs only once every 30 seconds.

savage

Azurewrath (Unique Sword): Lucky Hit – Core skill has up to 20% chance to freeze enemies for 3 seconds, dealing 0.75-1.5 frost damage.

druid

Fleshrender (unique one-handed mace): A debilitating roar and blood howl that deals 0.5-1.0 damage to nearby poisoned enemies.

necromancer

Lidless Wall (Unique Shield): Lucky Hit – When you have an active Bone Storm, hitting an enemy outside of the Bone Storm has a ~5-25% chance to generate an additional Bone Storm in that location . Each active Sacrifice bonus increases chance by 25% and increases the total number of additional Bone Storms you can have by +1.

Rogue

Eaglehorn (unique bow): Penetrating shots have a 30-80% chance to fire arrows that bounce off walls and scenery. Hitting an enemy from behind with a piercing shot makes them defenseless for 3 seconds of him.

magician

Oculus (Unique Wand): Gain the effects of the Teleport enchantment for free. Dodging with a teleport enchantment will take you to a random location.

Unique items have become a community focus in the past few weeks as fans debate drop rates and other areas of interest. The world’s first Andariel’s Visage fell for the first time in late June. Additionally, the patch includes a new Legendary Aspect.

This patch will be delivered ahead of the release of Diablo Season 1, which is scheduled to begin on July 20th. In addition to the Battle Pass release, Season of Malignancy will feature new mechanics, new bosses, and more. You can read everything you need to know about it here.
