EA Is Ending BioWare Points And Making Dragon Age And Mass Effect DLC Free

EA will officially remove BioWare points as a currency format in the Origin store on your PC. To make up for this, EA is now offering most of the Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 DLC for free to all players.

The news was shared in Reddit from something like Aircraft Sam89 Upon receiving an email from EA stating that these BioWare points are no longer available, EA has confirmed to IGN that they will actually be removed from the Origin store on October 11, 2022.

For unfamiliar people, BioWare points were a form of currency that players could buy from the Origin store’s EA to buy in-game content packs. BioWare Points were more common in the days of the games mentioned above, but EA has stopped using them in games such as Anthem, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Mass Effect Andromeda.

One group of non-free DLC is the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer pack. Those who wish to purchase these packs will be able to purchase at BioWare Points until October 11th. Since then, multiplayer packs have been “only available using credits. Earned in-game.”

BioWare notes that other currencies such as Crystals and Platinum are unaffected and you will continue to have access to all previously purchased content using BioWare Points.

BioWare is making these choices as it is in the process of developing the next entry in the Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and Mass Effect series.
