Evercore Heroes Is a Fun Change of Pace from the Usual MOBA

It may look like a MOBA, but Evercore Heroes is not League of Legends or Dota 2. Not an RTS or MMO. This is a competitive objective-based multiplayer game with no player-versus-player combat.

That means you don’t have to use your own two hands to cram enemies into the dumpster. Instead, you and your teammates will tackle his PvE challenges, such as boss fights and defending your base from waves of enemies, to be more effective than his three other teams facing in duels. win.

I recently had the chance to preview a pre-beta build of Evercore Heroes and was able to see exactly how the match would unfold. As a MOBA fan, I enjoy stuffing my enemies into the dumpster. As such, I was curious to see what the non-adversarial format of competitive games would feel like.

When you start a match of Evercore Heroes, you will face three other teams. Each team includes his 4 players. Usually 1 damage dealer, 1 tank and 1 support. Each team plays on the same map, but they cannot interact directly with each other. However, enemy players appear as floating wisps in team colors, so you can see how they move in real time.

Each team plays on the same map, but they cannot interact directly with each other.

A match is divided into several phases. At the beginning, you have a short amount of time to explore the map, collect resources and power up. Then an event called Luum Rush is started. The event has each team working on the same goal at the same time, and teams are awarded his Luum according to their relative performance. Acquiring as much Luum as possible is very important as it increases the health of the Evercore, the crystal at the center of the map.

Once the Lum Rush is over, we need to hurry back to Evercore. A surge wave begins and waves of enemies attack your base. One team must fall at this stage, so you don’t have to die if you want to stay in the game.

Admittedly, the Evercore Heroes mob isn’t exactly a pushover, so it’s easier said than done. I played on medium difficulty, and even when dealing with basic mobs, my team and I had to consider placement and targeting priority to avoid unnecessary hits.

That said, I think dealing with heroes will be a lot easier once you learn how to play them and how each enemy works, but to keep things challenging as the player’s abilities increase, the difficulty of the map is It actually scales based on the skill rating of the player during the match.

Thankfully, our team survived the initial surge wave and set out again to secure team resources. The matches I played felt very fast-paced with very short intervals between phases. We want to play as efficiently as possible so as not to fall behind.

Another team is eliminated after another Loum Rush event and Surge Wave. His two remaining teams go to different final challenges depending on the map they’re playing.

On the Kru Mines map, I had to go to the lair of the Troll Warlord, a huge boss, and defeat him as quickly as possible. As part of the fight, both teams are put to a test of skill at the same time, and the winning team receives damage his buffs that help in the fight.

To be honest, I was so focused on the combat that I only had a vague awareness of how the other teams were doing. This is represented by a bar at the top of the screen.

When I finally won, I felt like I won the map more than any other human player.

When I finally won, I felt like I had won more maps than any other human player. I was very eager to learn and try to get better results. It motivates me more than it eliminates it.

It may not satisfy your bloodlust, but Evercore Heroes feels like a fun change of pace. if you can continue.

If you want to try it yourself, you can purchase the Founders’ Pack to access the closed beta starting Tuesday, June 20th.
