FIFA 23 Legacy Edition (Switch) Review

The year is 2022. EA is back with its annual gift of sorry déjà vu for Nintendo Switch owners. A dystopian future is (fortunately?) closer than we think.

I was able to copy and paste the review like two years ago, but unlike some people at EA, I’m not too happy with reusing materials. I’m having a hard time caring at this point.

For the fourth year in a row, EA Sports has released a virtually unchanged edition of FIFA to Nintendo Switch.

As stated on the official website, “FIFA 23 Legacy Edition features the same gameplay innovations as FIFA 22, without any new developments or significant enhancements.”

Regarding last year’s game, “FIFA 22 Legacy Edition features the same gameplay innovations as FIFA 21, without any new development or significant enhancements.”

Oh, and last year: “FIFA 21 Legacy Edition will feature the same gameplay innovations as FIFA 20, with no new developments or significant enhancements.”

To complete the set: “FIFA 20 Legacy Edition features the same gameplay innovations as FIFA 19, no new developments or significant enhancements.”

And let me remind you that FIFA 19 on Switch wasn’t all that great in the first place…

With the FIFA license sailing from EA to New Meadows next year, this will be the last EA game to come to the Nintendo console called FIFA.

Next year, “EA Sports FC 24 Legacy Edition will feature the same gameplay innovations as FIFA 23, with no new developments or significant enhancements.”

Let’s hope for better.
