FIFA 23: Sam Kerr to Become Series’ First Female Cover Star Internationally

Australian soccer player Sam Carr will be the first female athlete to decorate the international FIFA cover after EA announces that it will appear in the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 alongside France’s Kylian Mbappe.

Chelsea Forward will also be the only star in the standard edition of the game in their native Australia and New Zealand. The cover will also be available internationally for Amazon only. Mbappe, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, will appear in standard editions in other regions.

“It’s an honor to decorate the cover of FIFA 23 and your dreams come true,” Kerr said. “It’s great to work with Killian and the entire EA SPORTS team, and I can’t wait for fans to get a copy of the game.”

Female athletes have so far been featured only in the regional edition of FIFA 16. At this time, EA launched a contest where fans could decide which player would participate in Lionel Messi on the cover. Alex Morgan was selected as an American star, Christine Sinclair was on the cover of Canada, and Stephanie Catley starred in the Australians.

Mbappe, who has been on the cover for the third year in a row, said, “I’m even more excited to share the cover of women’s football with a great player like Sam Kerr,” paying homage to the historic moment.

The 28-year-old is the captain of the Australian national team and the highest scorer in history in the National Women’s Soccer League in the United States. Carr is also the only female player to win seven golden boots and awards in three different leagues and three different continents.

FIFA 23 will be the last game of the franchise as EA and the football governing body ended their partnership in May 2022. The series will be rebranded as EA Sports FC, but the gameplay shouldn’t change significantly, but FIFA is now trying to create its own game. Franchise.
