Final Fantasy 16: A Closer Look at Hunt Battles – IGN First

FINAL FANTASY XVI is largely linear in structure, but there are also four vast areas for players to freely explore. These areas are lurking with the infamous Mark. Since these are side content, participating in battles with them is completely optional. However, players who defeat them can receive valuable rewards.

Each of these enemies has a rank, which indicates their strength. Of course, the higher the rank, the better the rewards. The Notorious Mark can be found by naturally exploring the game’s open areas, but its location can also be learned through the Hunt her board, which the protagonist Clive can access in the Hideout area.

In our exclusive video, you can watch two different Notorious Marks battle. Grimalkin is a level 32 monster of rank C, reminiscent of a hyena or leopard. Before you can fight it, you’ll need to get rid of Wilde’s pack of Knacks, who are supposedly acting as minions. Grimalkin rushes in with ferocious claws, but its attacks are powerful but its movements are difficult to read. Defeating Grimalkin shouldn’t be too difficult if you can dodge and counterattack at the right time.

The same can’t be said for the video’s second infamous mark, Atlas. Atlas is a level 45 S-rank foe similar to one of Final Fantasy’s most iconic foes, the Iron He Giant. He wields a long-reaching sword and fires projectiles at players from above. In particular, Atlas swings his sword sideways while firing a beam, which has a long reach and is difficult to avoid. In the video, the player uses the Titanic Block Iconic’s ability to engage in close quarters combat, but can it be defeated?

Final Fantasy XVI releases for PlayStation 5 on June 22nd. Be sure to check out Liquid Flame’s special boss battle gameplay (see above), an explainer video on the game’s Eikonic abilities straight from the developer, and gameplay in his two dungeons in the game. .
