Final Fantasy 16 Demo Announced for June 12 and Save Data Will Transfer to the Full Game

Final Fantasy 16 will be demoed to PS5 on June 12th, and progress will carry over to the full game on June 22nd, 2023.

Square Enix announced the news during the Final Fantasy 16 pre-launch gala, with the demo set to stream June 12 at 1am PT / 4am ET / 9am BST / 6pm AEST. confirmed.

Regarding the content of the demo, Square Enix said it will start with the game’s prologue and take the player just over two hours to complete. This is part of the demo and carries over to the entire game, but it’s not the only part of the demo.

Once the player completes the prologue, a special combat demo will be unlocked, allowing them to “experience Clive’s action combat with additional iconic abilities.” Since the Prologue features a young Clive (Final Fantasy 16 protagonist!), Square Enix wanted players to experience some of the abilities that are unlocked later in the game.

Square Enix also pointed out that while the special battle demo takes place in a very dark fortress, it doesn’t represent the entire game. They promise a lot of light and bright areas to come.

As we mentioned earlier, Final Fantasy 16 is set to release on PS5 on June 22, 2023, and in our first four hours of hands-on with the game, we said: As Final Fantasy 16, it looks like a very bright work. If the opening hours of confrontation with the giant Akon, the fantastic melee combat, and the unfolding story on both a personal and global level are worth it, then you’ve got some really fun times ahead. “
