When FINAL FANTASY XVI was first released in 2020, a notable element was the barking puppy when two of the game’s main characters, Clive and Joshua, met each other. Veterans of the series will remember that FINAL FANTASY has a long history with loyal dogs, so what’s the deal with FINAL FANTASY 16’s very cute little puppies?
Talking to IGN in a new interview following the latest trailer for FINAL FANTASY 16, producer Naoki Yoshida made fun of a little more information about the franchise’s latest dog.
“Well, let’s say he’s a wolf rather than a dog. His name is” Torgal, “” says Yoshida. Party soon. “
Yoshida isn’t ready to elaborate any further, but it seems that Torgal will definitely play a role in the story, and perhaps in gameplay. Whatever his role, Togal joins a proud pedigree, including Ambra, the Luna Freya dog who can cross time and space in FINAL FANTASY 15. A dark star who will make your life miserable in FINAL FANTASY 7 with Interceptor, Doberman Pinscher who bites the enemy in FINAL FANTASY VI, and Rufus Shinra.
According to Mr. Yoshida, in the battle of FINAL FANTASY XVI, “one or more” AI companions will appear, and will participate in battles with Clive and trade bunters. See if one of those AI companions will be Torgal.
