Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS Plus Intergrade Issues Now Fixed

Update 07/21: Sony seems to have fixed an issue affecting PS5 users claiming the Intergrade Bundle of FINAL FANTASY 7 Remake. As reported by VGC, You can now request a package even if you previously owned a PS5 version of FF7 Remake. So if the game is already installed, the console only needs to download the Intermission DLC.

FINAL FANTASY VII Remake players cannot claim the PS5 Intergrade Bundle via PS Plus.

The PlayStation Store quirk means that anyone who already owns a remake cannot claim the FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Intergrade Bundle that has just been added to PSPlus Extra.

Intergrade, an upgraded PS5 version of the remake, includes intermissions for new episodes. This is a spin-off story featuring Yuffie as a playable character.

Unfortunately, if you already own FINAL FANTASY VII Remake on your PS5, you will not be able to request or download new bundles. Instead, you will see the following message:

“You cannot purchase this product for the following reasons: You already own the following products that compete with the product you are trying to purchase: FINAL FANTASY VII Remake.”

This purchase error actually existed for some time. Players who upgrade from the PS4 version of FINAL FANTASY VII Remake to the PS5 version will no longer be able to purchase or charge Intergrade. But until now there was no reason to do so.

Intermission DLC can be purchased individually for $ 19.99. This means that upgradeers only need to purchase DLC separately to access new content. But with the addition of Intergrade to the PS Plus Extra, there’s good reason to need the entire bundle. After all, it’s “free” for PS Plus Extra users.

This means that PS5 players with access to PS Plus Extra will need to purchase the Intermission DLC separately, but those who have never owned FF7 Remake will be able to get the content as part of their subscription.

A simple fix is to include the Intermission DLC in your PS Plus Extra. This allows PS5 upgraders to claim additional content for free, just like everyone else. But for now, it’s not offered. And fans of FINAL FANTASY VII aren’t happy.

“I hope this forces their hands,” said one user. With Reddit.. “Last year I bought FF7 Physics and requested a PS + version, but I couldn’t request a PS5 upgrade for my digital copy.”

IGN is seeking comment from both Square Enix and Sony.
