Forspoken Delayed to January 2023

Future Actions for Square Enix-RPG Norspoken has been postponed to January 24, 2023.

Developer Luminous Productions, announced on Twitter, explained that the decision was “the result of ongoing discussions with key partners,” reassuring fans that the game is in the “final polish stage.” I did. It may have been decided to move the new IP release away from other major game releases.

The announcement of the delay also indicates that the game will appear further in the “late summer of this year”.

Forspoken was originally scheduled for release on October 11th. The date itself was delayed after the game was first announced on May 25th. By the way, the first delay message also said that an extra month would be used to polish the game.

PS5 and PC games were announced in 2020, but they are especially quiet. In last year’s Hands-off Preview, the game created primarily by the developers of FINAL FANTASY 15 was “an off-quilter take on the JRPG formula,” and “Assassin’s Creed and The Witcher’s Vein were I previously. It’s better than what Square Enix sees. “

Luminous aims to be “the highest quality visual ever” in open world games, inviting Rogue One writer Gary Witter and Uncharted creator Amy Hennig at various points in the development process.

Starring Frey, a young woman drawn from modern New York into a fantastic realm called Asia, the game focuses on magic, parkour, and fast action. Despite the delay, many editions of the game are still lined up for pre-orders.
