Forza Horizon 1 and 2 Servers Will Shut Down in August

turn 10 is announced Forza Horizon 1 and 2 online servers will shut down on August 22nd, 2023.

After the shutdown date, online features such as matchmaking and leaderboards, as well as viewing and downloading online user-generated content will be unavailable. This content includes coloring, records, tuning setups, and photos. However, the single-player experience for both games is still playable.

Turn 10 said the reason for the closure was that both games had very low player populations. Additionally, due to the age of these games and their services, access to online features is not guaranteed even before August 22nd.

Forza Horizon 2’s end of online service will affect both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game, as well as the standalone Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious. Players who have already purchased Forza Horizon 1 or Forza Horizon 2 will still be able to download it after the end date.

Both games are backwards compatible with Xbox Series X|S, this feature will not be affected by server closures, and players will still be able to access single-player content.
