GoldenEye 007: Long-Rumoured Remaster Reportedly in Limbo Due to Ukraine War
The long-rumored remake of Golden Eye 007 for the Xbox is clearly delayed as a result of the Ukrainian War.
Industry insider Jeff Grubb reported on Twitter (below) EurogamerA remake of the classic Nintendo 64 game, “I’m still at a loss because of the war.” There is no official one, but this is consistent with reports that the game was in near perfect condition for some time.
The GoldenEye remake appeared closer than last month, as Microsoft actually posted the results on its official website and some developers have already unlocked them. Therefore, Microsoft may be ready to release the game.

The Xbox Achievement tracking website True Achievements also listed games in January, but this isn’t the first time Microsoft has tried to bring Golden Eye to the console. The original updated version was confirmed by developer Rare to be under development for the Xbox 360 live arcade, but was canceled due to licensing issues and the game files were leaked online in February 2021. ..
Hitman developer Io Interactive is also working on its own Project 007, which brings a whole new story to the Super Spy world, so it’s not just a (probably) James Bond game.
