Gotham Knights: The First 16 Minutes of Gameplay – IGN First

August’s IGN First is WB Montreal’s highly anticipated Gotham Knights. This is an open world action RPG set in the new Batman video game world where Batman is dead. To kick off his month of new footage, interviews, and news, we begin aptly with his first 16 minutes of gameplay.

The footage (top) shows controlling one of the knights for the first time, performing basic controls and abilities for both combat and locomotion. The game’s opening is set in the unusual setting of Gotham University, where the Knights track down Batman’s final lead in search of Dr. Kirk Langstrom (known as Man-Bat to comic book fans). . After discovering that he was seemingly murdered before you arrive, you must investigate the crime scene and, emboldened by Batman’s death, fight past members of the Freaks Gang who are ravaging the campus. I have.

The final game lets you choose which superhero to play in this section, but today I’m showing you the Batgirl version of the intro. All dialogues and animations are different.

What’s interesting here is that none of the knights are weak, even though this is an RPG opening. Instead, all four are already proficient in Batman’s crime-fighting style, and the progression of the game helps each of them instead. Beyond that, find your strengths (more on that progress later this month).

“They are already great when they start the game,” explains Creative Director Patrick Redding. “It’s not a function of them being ineffective as criminals, quite the opposite. They’re most similar at first, in the sense that they move around and use grapples, and it’s actually the It’s a game process.”

what comes Previous This first playable section is much more of a mystery. WB Montreal is very Shy about the prologue of Gotham Knights, he refuses to say where and how Batman will die (and who will be responsible). Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood meet at his grave and decide to work together to solve the mystery that supposedly led to Batman’s demise.

We’ll find out more when the game releases for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on October 25th. But before that, August is full of new gameplay, detailed information, and more.
