Gwendoline Christie Wants to Return as Captain Phasma in Star Wars

Gwendoline Christie has expressed enthusiasm for playing Captain Phasma in the Star Wars universe and is “absolutely in love” with her chrome-plated character making a comeback.

talk empireChristie admitted there might be more to explore for the character outside of her live-action appearances in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, where she fell in battle with Finn. Having made a few appearances elsewhere in the galaxy and even run her own comic, Christie just feels there might be untapped potential out there.

“I haven’t read the comics, but I mean, it’s Star Wars! I absolutely love it”. If you feel it’s worth doing, that’s great.”

The scene in The Last Jedi where Phasma is shoved into a pit of fire was a lot more open to interpretation than cutting the character in half or watching him evaporate. Even without a body, a character could still be alive. At least, that was the logic that allowed Boba Fett to survive in the Expanded Universe and reappear in the Disney+ series Boba Fett’s books.

Not seeing Phasma die seems almost intentional, but there’s no mention of bringing back a tough veteran commander for a Star Wars project that would allow Christie to wear the helmet again. No. Phasma hasn’t completely disappeared from the screen, though. She appeared in her 2018 Star Wars: Resistance series and this year’s her LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video Her Game.

“This is the next step for me,” joked Christy about his character’s inclusion in the LEGO Star Wars game.Because they could be everything I originally wanted. [where] Our megalomania can be investigated! ”

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga became the biggest LEGO game release ever, selling 3.2 million copies in its first two weeks, surpassing worldwide sales records. The game includes missions from all nine Star Wars movies and additional DLC packs such as The Mandalorian, Rogue His One: A Star Wars Story.
