Hogwarts Legacy Has Amassed Over $1 Billion

Hogwarts Legacy has now sold 15 million copies and earned over $1 billion, and that number is expected to increase significantly as the game becomes available on previous generation platforms.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said as part of the company’s earnings call today. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.

Sales remain steady alongside LEGO, DC, Mortal Kombat and Game of Thrones, making Hogwarts Legacy WB’s fifth $1 billion-plus game franchise.

However, sales are expected to continue to grow. Hogwarts Legacy not only launches today on PS4 and Xbox One, but his Switch version is also set to launch in July. JB Perrette, his CEO of WB Discovery’s global streaming and gaming division, said during the earnings call that the Switch version is important to sales.

“I think there’s probably a much bigger install base and fan base,” he said, noting that Nintendo has a huge install base in Japan, where “Harry Potter” is “in terms of popularity”. Very distorted.”

“Probably from that release, certainly [PS5 and Xbox Series release]predicted.

Hogwarts Legacy was previously the best-selling game in February 2023 and is the best-selling game of the year so far. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is likely to be tough competition, but with the current generation and Switch release, Hogwarts Legacy looks likely to be the biggest game of the year. It was the exact opposite of the controversy over legacy and JK Rowling, author of the original Harry Potter books.

For those playing today, a new patch is now available with a new Arachnophobia mode and various bug fixes.
