It was announced by developer Guerrilla Games in a trailer for . game awardsHorizon Forbidden West is officially getting DLC - but only for PlayStation 5.
The Burning Shores DLC, which arrives on April 19, 2023, takes Aloy to Los Angeles to showcase the Hollywood Sign (and is soon destroyed by giant robots). According to the PlayStation Blog post, Guerrilla explained:
According to the post, the DLC has Aloy pursuing a “sinister threat” that has turned the LA region into a volcanic archipelago. n It features a compelling story that follows where Forbidden West ended, new characters, adventures, and more.”
Forbidden West, the highly anticipated sequel to 2017’s Horizon: Zero Dawn, saw the return of protagonist Alloy, who explored the Forbidden West, including dilapidated versions of cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco. .
Released in February 2022, the sequel will follow in the footsteps of the original and get a major expansion as The Frozen Wilds DLC was released for Zero Dawn in November 2017.
Forbidden West received a ton of initial updates to fix various technical issues and quality-of-life features, but a New Game Plus mode was added later this year, which hasn’t changed much since launch. It will be the first major DLC package to appear in the game.
