How to Build a Mecha in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears introduced a series of new gameplay mechanics before the game’s official release. One of them was the ability to build an incredible amount of vehicles, devices and contraptions. You can naturally build anything you can think of. But even the initial reveal of how the building works got me thinking. Can you make mecha in this game? The moment I touched the game with the giant robot’s potion-filled hand, I knew what I had to do. Hyrule will be able to take care of itself, at least until I get a working mechsuit.

If you need help building a foundation, hot air balloon, car,or boat, there is also a guide for that. Remember also that you need to consume enough. Energy cell upgrade To power giant robots.

The basic components of a mech are:

  • 2 carts
  • 1x stabilizer
  • 1x steering stick
  • 2x big wheels
  • 2x small wheels
  • 4 portable pots
  • 4x construct head
  • 4x Weapons (Fire/Shock/Frost/Beam Emitter, Cannon)

Initially, your choices are very limited. Not much happens mechanically when you only have access to pots, fans, wings, steering sticks, and flamethrowers. But you can start experimenting and see what kind of systems you can try. A flamethrower is a great idea as a weapon, but right now it just spits fire indiscriminately and wastes a lot of power. Fans and wings are great for moving or getting at least the other parts you need.

With all the different Zonai devices properly selected, it’s time to get to work.

Build a mech with TotK

  • Create the body of the mech using two carts, stabilizers and steering sticks.
  • Place one cart on the ground, wheel side upattach the stabilizer to one of the short ends of the cart, then attach the steering stick to the other free end of the cart.
  • Tuck everything in with the other cart, wheel side down, and you have a solid base to work from.

Unfortunately, we haven’t yet found a way to make this mech walk (almost like real life). But at least we can get things moving, so we can adapt.

  • Take two large wheels and attach the axles to the bottom corners of the cart near the stabilizers.
  • Place these big wheels towards the back of the mech.
  • After attaching the large wheels, flip the fuselage over and attach the two smaller wheels between the two larger wheels on the front.
  • Now that we’ve attached the wheels, the mech should at least stand on its own.

  • Prepare two pots and glue the sides of the pots together. ball and socket jointattach it to the upper corner of the fuselage.
  • Do this twice on the other side and your mech will grow arms.
  • Two structural heads attach to the shoulders next to the steering sticks to give the mech pauldrons (and more room to place weapons).
  • Then take two more structural heads and attach them to the ends of the pot arms.

Now all that’s left is to arm your mech and start wiping out the monsters.

Attach various types of cannons and emitters to the heads of structures placed on your mech. The Construct Head keeps the weapon from constantly firing and wasting battery power. Approaching an enemy triggers the construct’s head and begins attacking the enemy with the weapon of choice. Here she chose to use a quadruple beam emitter setup, but feel free to use any combination of elemental emitters and cannons. Weapons can also be stacked for increased efficiency. But be careful about power consumption.
