Indie Hit Vampire Survivors Was the Most-Played Game on Steam Deck Last Month
Against some very big games, Vampire Survivors was the most played game on Steam Deck in August.
among list of top games Played by Steam Deck owners, Valve highlighted Vampire Survivors, an excellent bullet hell roguelike RPG, as last month’s top game in terms of hours played. Quite an accomplishment for an indie game still in early access after an early release last December.

The game entered Early Access late last year, but has seen a decline in player numbers in the months since. steam chartbut that doesn’t seem to have stopped its surge in popularity on the Steam Deck last month.
An update earlier this month added several new achievements and a new playable character, Queen Sigma. The addition of the game to PC Game Pass in May seems to have won a whole new audience. In fact, the game was also the #2 most-played deck on his Steam deck for the month of July.

Steam Deck supports Xbox Game Pass, so it looks like the perfect storm for the spirited Vampire Survivors developer, as it soared to the top of the Steam Deck charts.
IGN’s review of Vampire Survivors was 7/10, stating: Still, I felt compelled to spend a dozen hours experimenting with its many weapon and ability upgrade combinations. Disappearing, but if this is just the beginning of an Early Access run, we’d love to see more difficulty options and secrets layered on top as development continues.
