With the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 fast approaching, one of the most exciting things about this sequel is that it will feature a story focused on both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. As if that wasn’t surprising enough, Insomniac has confirmed that players will be able to switch between his two Spider-Men at will, within the open world, at specific times during the story.
talk to euro gamer Following Spider-Man 2’s 10-minute gameplay demo at the latest PlayStation Showcase, Spider-Man 2 creative director Bryan Intihar explained how the game handles switching between characters, and many of them We’ve covered how it’s possible thanks to the power of the PS5.
“When we’re playing the main story, we control when to switch between Pete and Miles… when we do the switch, it’s certainly done to serve the story,” said Intihar. said. “So, as we saw in revealing the gameplay that is part of the main story, we pre-determine them based on what we want to do with how the story unfolds.
“There’s content designed around Peter, there’s content designed around Miles, and there’s content that you can play either way. In the open world, you can switch between them at will with the push of a button.
“It’s really, really cool to be able to quickly switch between two characters in an open world. Just being able to choose who you want to play for a given activity…it’s pretty cool to have that feature. . [It’s] It’s probably never been explored before. ”
