J.K. Simmons Will Reprise His Invincible Role as Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1

At this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Invincible’s Omniman would join Mortal Kombat 1 alongside Homelander and Peacemaker, but it was also confirmed that JK Simmons, who had already made a name for himself in the Amazon Prime animated series, would voice the role.

this is, Interview on the Comic Con show floor At the time, Ed Boone of the Netherrealm revealed that Simmons had recorded Omniman’s narration. “It’s as authentic as possible,” Boone said.

Simmons has long been a favorite in movies, TV, and even video games. He is perhaps best known for playing J. Jonah Jameson in multiple Spider-Man films, including the Sam Raimi trilogy, Far From Home, No Way Home, Across the Spider-Verse, multiple animated shows, and the 2005 and 2007 Spider-Man video games 2 and 3.

Most recently, though, he’s been voicing Omniman in the Amazon Prime animated series Invincible, which just announced a November 3 release date for season two. Of course, we don’t want to spoil the ending of Season 1, but our review called it “the most amazing superhero series of the year”, with Omniman in particular playing a pretty important role as the main character’s father.

We’ll have to be a little more patient with his role in Mortal Kombat 1. Omniman appears as part of his DLC Kombat Pack at the beginning of the game, along with Quan Chi, Takeda, Ermac, and Homelander. We spoke with Boone in detail about all the Mortal Kombat 1 news from the show, including newly announced characters and more.
