John Romero, Co-Creator of Doom, Is Making a New FPS

Destiny creator John Romero and his studio Romero Games are working on a whole new first-person shooter with Unreal Engine 5.

“This is the new dawn of Romero games. We are working with a major publisher to develop John Romero’s next shooter. It’s a brand new FPS with the original new IP,” Romero said on Twitter. It is stated in. “We are looking for talented people with all positions and all experience levels, especially Unreal Engine 5 experience.”

according to Studio website, Job titles fall into the categories of Code, Design, and Art. The list provides hints on what mechanics can be included in the game. The game may contain multiplayer and online components because it lists senior multiplayer programmer positions and online architect positions.

No other details about the game, such as the game platform, release window, publisher, etc., have been revealed.

Romero is currently working on Sigil2, which runs on the Doom2 engine. The last official release of the studio was the Empire of Sin in 2020.
