Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Producer Shinji Hashimoto Retires After 30 Years With Square Enix

Game producer Shinji Hashimoto announced today that he has retired from Square Enix for nearly 30 years.

Hashimoto started with Squaresoft in 1995 and was the brand manager for both Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises.

“Thank you everyone. I will retire today on May 31st (Tuesday). I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone in various fields during my tenure,” Hashimoto announced on Twitter. “I would like to continue to support you as a fan of Square Enix. Thank you very much.”

He also I posted a video message On Twitter, he says he enjoyed traveling around the world and attending different types of events. But in recent years he has stopped going to them because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After he announced his retirement, he wanted to visit everyone, but instead had to choose a video message.

Even if you leave Square Enix, you will continue to enjoy video games and play Square Enix titles. Hashimoto also says that if he finds him in public at an event, he will be happy to take a picture with him.
