Legendary Final Fantasy Artist Reveals His Take on Cuphead
Cuphead’s iconic art style is inspired by the golden age of comics. But thanks to legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano, we now see a completely different take on the character of Cuphead.

This art gives Cuphead, Mugman, and Ms. Chalice a human-like appearance, and the trio hold weapons that make them feel at home in Final Fantasy games. The liquid usually found inside Cuphead’s and Mugman’s cups turns into hair, and the straws resemble horns. You can see
Amano is a visual artist and character designer best known for his work on the Final Fantasy series. He was the character designer for the first of his six mainline Final Fantasy games, and works on the series as the logo designer for the title. The Cuphead art created by Amano will be on the soundtrack jacket that comes with the special edition of Cuphead.
