Approximately two years after Steve from Minecraft joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC roster, his (and his female counterpart Alex) amiibo will finally arrive in stores on September 9.
Nintendo announced the release date of Minecraft’s amiibo on Twitter. Alongside the post, fans also got a short video that first saw the final design of Steve and Alex amiibo. These are really true to the character’s original block design.

Initially announced in the spring of 2022, Steve and Alex amiibo have been postponed until late 2022 “due to logistics and production delays.”
Now that Minecraft’s amiibo collection has finally reached its release date, Nintendo is nearing the end of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo line. After Steve, the last characters left for the company to convert to amiibo format are Sephiroth, Pila and Mithra, Kazuya, and Sora, the last character added to Smash Ultimate. However, it is still unclear if Sora will receive amiibo.
