Among the over 100 cards shown are the dreaded Nazgul, recognizable locations in Middle-earth in the form of land cards, the corrupted One Ring itself, and even the giant Tolkiens beloved around the world. It included many character descriptions.

From Aragorn to Frodo, Boromir to Peregrine Tuk, and even the dreaded Balrog, you’ll find all the notable characters you want.

Many of the cards revealed make use of the “The Ring Seduces You” mechanic, and the longer you use its formidable powers, the more empowered the player’s ring bearer will be. One of these abilities makes Ringbearer legendary and prevents creatures with more power from blocking attacks. Another one steals all opponents’ life when the ring bearer damages the player.

WotC also discussed a digital version of their game, Magic: The Gathering Arena, which will receive the entire set. For those looking to bring Middle-earth into the arena battles, we offer a Hobbit-themed digital playmat where you can toss cards with your friends.
