Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Is Getting a Prequel Comic

The upcoming PS5 game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will get its prequel in comic book form as part of Free Comic Book Day on May 6.

Insomniac Games Announces Comic PlayStation Blog Post Today, Narrative Director Jon Puckett shares details of the plot of the story. The story is said to let fans know what Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Mary Jane (MJ) have been up to since the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

“When we first talked to the Marvel team, we went through a few different ideas about what kinds of stories we could tell in a prequel,” Puckett said. We kept coming back to the same core premise: What if Peter, Miles, and MJ had to team up against a new supervillain who doesn’t understand their powers? I wanted to see what this heroic trio has been up to since the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. What’s Pete up to now with two Spider-Man in town? How is Miles doing in school? And what about MJ’s journalism career?”

The comic is written by Christos Gage, who wrote the story for Marvel’s Spider-Man, and illustrated by Ig Guara.
