Microsoft ‘Confident’ It Can Get Call of Duty Running on Nintendo Switch

After Microsoft and Nintendo agreed to bring Call of Duty to the Nintendo platform for at least 10 years, Microsoft has further detailed its plans for Call of Duty on Nintendo Switch.

and filing filed with the UK Competition and Markets Authority ( The Barge), Microsoft has revealed that it believes both free-to-play Warzone and full premium releases of Call of Duty will fit on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

“The game engine that powers Warzone is mature and optimized to run on a wide range of hardware devices (from the Xbox One console released in 2015 to the Xbox Series X),” part of the filing said. I’m here. “Warzone supports PC hardware with GPU cards released as far back as 2015 (i.e. prior to the 2017 Nintendo Switch release).”

Microsoft Acquires Activision Blizzard: The Story So Far

Just because the Switch is newer than the Xbox One doesn’t mean Nintendo’s console is more powerful. In fact, we’ve seen multiple games originally released on Xbox One get native Switch ports with reduced performance and resolution to run on the system.

Microsoft seems poised to pursue Activision Blizzard downgraded port options when it comes to Call of Duty’s release on the Nintendo platform.

“The Activision development team has a long history of optimizing game performance for available hardware capabilities,” the statement reads. “Both parties, in addition to Warzone, are committed to ensuring that CoD’s purchase-and-play titles (CoD : Modern Warfare 2), Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite, Crysis 3 and more for Switch.”

In addition to the games mentioned in Microsoft’s report, the Nintendo Switch will also see ports of games such as Skyrim, Wolfenstein 2 and Dark Souls Remastered. Microsoft doesn’t seem to be taking a cloud version approach with its Nintendo platform. The company says the deal means “Microsoft will develop and publish future native console versions of his CoD titles for the Nintendo platform for at least 10 years.”

The report filed with the UK’s CMA is the latest attempt by Microsoft to push for its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The exchange between Microsoft, Activision Blizzard and Sony has been going on for over a year, with Sony’s latest allegation saying that Microsoft may intentionally sabotage the PlayStation version of Call of Duty.
