Mortal Kombat 12 Revealed As Mortal Kombat 1

Warner Bros. Games and Netherrealm Studios Officially Reveal Mortal Kombat 1 Reboot Coming September 19th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC

Following earnings teasers earlier this year, Warner Bros. Discovery and NetherRealm have officially announced Mortal Kombat 1. its website And released the public trailer YouTube.

“Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest title in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat video game franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios,” the website post reads.

“The game introduces a reborn world of Mortal Kombat created by Liu Kang, the God of Fire, with never-before-seen reimagined versions of iconic characters, as well as new combat systems, game modes, Featuring a bone-crushing finishing move, and more.”

So far, these characters include Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and more. NetherRealm has so far confirmed that these characters will be featured in the new story mode, but has yet to reveal which other game modes will be featured in Mortal Kombat 1.

By pre-ordering the $109.99 premium version, players will be in early access starting September 14th with 1,250 Dragon Crystals (in-game currency) and a Johnny Cage skin styled similarly to Jean-Claude Van Damme Combat The pack gives you early access to 6 new playables. Characters and 5 new cameo fighters.

These are a new roster of characters to assist the player during the match, drawn from their own roster separate from the main Mortal Kombat 1 characters.

There’s also a $249.99 Collector’s Edition for PS5 and Xbox series only, which includes all Premium Edition content, plus a 16.5-inch Liu Kang sculpture, three exclusive art prints, a steel case, and 1,450 additional pieces. Contains dragon crystals.

The beta will also be available for PS5 and Xbox Series users who pre-ordered any version of the game, adding cross-play and cross-progression to NetherRealm after launch.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the game since NetherRealm revealed it was working on a new project as of July 2021 after Mortal Kombat 11 ended support, but Johnny Cage voice actor Andrew Bowen was quick to confirm. A now-deleted tweet teased that a 12th game was in development.

Mortal Kombat 11 launched in 2019 and has been a four-year wait for fans of fighting games with a little (or a lot) of graphic gore and violence.

In a 9/10 review of its predecessor, IGN said, “Mortal Kombat 11 is the best game of the 27-year-old series thanks to its deep, systematic new mechanics and fun story.”
